ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The night after nearly topping one NAIA team on the road, the Eureka men's basketball team couldn't keep up with NAIA Concordia Michigan.
The Cardinals came out hot and kept their foot on the gas the whole game, earning a 100-69 win over the Red Devils on Saturday evening.
Eureka's J'Len Crawford (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) led the visitors with 17 points while knocking down five 3-pointers for the second time this season.
Ian Milsteadt (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) followed with 10 points and a team-high four assists. Charlie McKinty (Elmwood, Ill./Elmwood) and Lane Thompson (Dwight, Ill./Dwight) each added nine. The former gathered a team-high five rebounds on the game, while the latter went 4-for-4 from the field.
Concordia shot a strong 54.5 percent from the floor, won the rebound battle 39-26, outscored EC in the paint 44-24 and tallied 32 points off turnovers.
The Red Devils improved from shooting 32.1 percent in the first half to 56.3 percent in the second half, and only scored one less point than the Cardinals after halftime. Eureka also hit 13 3-pointers, tying a season high.
Eureka (4-6) will next host North Park (5-2) on Dec. 28 at 3 p.m.
