Eureka Baseball Adds Clint Stroud to Coaching Staff

EUREKA — The Eureka College baseball team has added Clint Stroud to its coaching staff, according to a Monday announcement.

Stroud joins the Red Devils after spending the last five years in baseball working as the pitching coach at McKendree University, the Director of Baseball Operations and an assistant coach at Illinois State University and pitching coach in the Midwest Collegiate League-Summer Baseball League.

At Eureka, Stroud will serve as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for EC head coach Jerry Rashid. A 2010 Olympia High School graduate, Stroud previously played against Rashid – an Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame coach – when he was the head coach at Illinois Valley Central.

"I am thrilled to have Clint join our staff as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Eureka College," Rashid said. "He is an excellent teacher with a competitive edge that will benefit all of our players. This is a huge win for our program."

Stroud received his bachelor's degree in specialized health science from ISU in 2015 and a master's degree in sports management from ISU in 2017.

Prior to attending ISU, Stroud attended and pitched for Heartland Community College from 2010 to 2012, making back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association World Series appearances. He still owns the program record for single-season ERA and saves.
