Parker Brodine Named SLIAC Pitcher of the Week for First Time
EUREKA – For the first time, Eureka's Parker Brodine (Brimfield, Ill./Elmwood-Brimfield) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The right-handed junior received the weekly honor on Monday after leading the Red Devils to a 4-0 shutout over Edgewood at the Millsaps Tournament on Saturday. He successfully limited the Eagles to no runs on just five hits and zero walks in seven innings of work in the team's first win of 2022 season.
It was Brodine's first collegiate win. The shutout was Eureka's first since March 20, 2019, when the Red Devils blanked Monmouth in a 2-0 victory. Brodine is the Red Devils' first SLIAC Pitcher of the Week since J.D. Thiele following that win.
