EC Baseball Picked Seventh in SLIAC Preseason Poll
BELLEVILLE, Ill. — The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its preseason baseball poll on Wednesday. The poll, which was conducted by the league baseball coaches, selected the Red Devils to finish seventh in the SLIAC with 13 points.
Webster received the most overall points with 48 and six of the eight first-place votes. Spalding was second with 44 and two first-place votes, followed by Fontbonne (34), Westminster (33), Greenville (26) and Iowa Wesleyan (15).
Blackburn was right behind Eureka with 11.
The Red Devils are loaded with newcomers and underclassmen. The team features a quartet of senior veterans in outfielder Kyle Christman (Peru, Ill./La Salle-Peru), catcher Dean Moir (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) and pitchers Gregory Cluskey (East Peoria, Ill./Metamora) and David Throw (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove).
