Mike Dunne Named SLIAC Hitter of the Week

EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka's Mike Dunne (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

Dunne turned in a stellar performance at the plate, helping lead the Red Devils to a 5-1 record on the week, including a perfect 4-0 mark in SLIAC play. He went 13-for-22, tallying nine RBIs, one home run, four doubles, and drawing eight walks.

The highlight of his week came during multi-hit performances against Westminster and Blackburn. On April 22, Dunne went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in Game 1 against Westminster. He followed that up on April 26 with a dominant doubleheader against Blackburn, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs in Game 1 and 3-for-5 in Game 2.

Dunne and the Red Devils will return to action on Thursday with a road matchup against Knox, starting at 3:00 p.m.
