Two senior Red Devils to participate in fourth annual Dream Bowl

EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College senior defensive lineman Austin Blair (Newton, Ill./Newton [Franklin]) and defensive back Jordan Blair (Lanark, Ill./Eastland [Rockford]) have been invited to play in the Dream Bowl, on Monday, Jan. 18 at 12:00 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va. The fourth annual contest will air nationally on the American Sports Network.

According to the game's website, the five-day event held over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend is to honor Martin Luther King's spirit and to recall his motto "I have a dream". The Dream Bowl weekend will incorporate family activities and community involvement.

Austin delivered a strong senior season, finishing fourth on the team in total tackles with 44, averaging 4.4 tackles per game as a member of the interior defensive line. Consistently fighting double-teams, Blair was able to secure 9.5 tackles for a loss, second-most on the team, and 5.0 sacks. Additionally, he forced one fumble and recovered two. He was a First Team All-UMAC selection following the season.

Jordan finished his senior campaign with 39 total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss, and tallied four interceptions and four pass breakups. He notched a season-high nine total tackles against Westminster on Oct. 10.
