Eureka College And Chicago Bears Partner For Girls Flag Football Clinic
EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College is proud to announce a partnership with the Chicago Bears to host a Girls Flag Football Clinic on Friday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Eureka College campus. Open to girls ages 13-18 (incoming freshmen through seniors), the clinic will provide a premier football experience at no cost to participants. Check-in begins at 10 a.m. Participants can register here.
The clinic will officially begin at 11 a.m. with position-specific instruction led by Eureka College coaches, Chicago Bears staff, and coaches from throughout the region.
Participants will return at 3:30 p.m. for a Skills Challenge featuring five events: the 40-yard dash, long ball toss, accuracy toss, short shuttle, and push-up contest. Awards will be presented to top finishers following the competition at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Food trucks will be available on campus beginning at 11 a.m. and will remain open throughout the day for participants, families, friends, and staff. Spectators are encouraged to attend and enjoy a full day of flag football action and community engagement.
Between sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with members of Eureka College's accomplished football coaching staff. Leading the group is Dion Jordan, Eureka College Head Football Coach and the third overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins out of Oregon.
Also attending will be Joshua Kaddu, Eureka College Associate Head Coach and a fifth-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Kaddu was a standout linebacker at Oregon and started for the Ducks in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.
Participants will also meet Kyle Avaloy, Eureka College Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. Avaloy played at Illinois State from 2012-2016 and started for the Redbirds in the 2014 FCS National Championship Game, helping anchor one of the nation's top offensive units.
Attendees will also receive a guided campus tour showcasing Eureka's academic spaces, residence halls, athletics facilities, and student life amenities.
The event comes as Eureka College prepares to launch its inaugural women's flag football season in spring 2027. Backed by the strength of Eureka's established football program and athletic department, the Red Devils are poised to make an immediate impact in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
In support of that vision, Eureka College has received a generous $10,000 donation from RCX Sports, the nation's leader in youth and collegiate sports experiences and the official operator of NFL FLAG. The contribution will directly support program operations, recruiting efforts, and the continued development of student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division III level.
"This donation is a tremendous endorsement of what we are building here at Eureka College," said Cedric Minniefield, Head Coach of Eureka College Women's Flag Football. "RCX Sports has been at the forefront of growing the game at every level, and their investment in our program speaks volumes about where women's flag football is headed. We are incredibly grateful for their support and belief in our student-athletes."
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Roswell, Georgia, RCX Sports operates and partners with leagues, events, and major brands to engage and empower the next generation of athletes. As the official youth sports operator for the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, and USTA, RCX is the only multi-sport organization trusted by professional leagues and governing bodies to represent their brands at the grassroots level.
Through its Females in FLAG initiative, RCX has helped sanction girls' flag football as a varsity high school sport in 17 states while expanding opportunities at the collegiate level. The sport is also set to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Collegiately, RCX has partnered with NIRSA to enhance club and intramural flag football experiences at more than 900 schools across North America, while also operating collegiate showcases and championship finals at the NAIA and NJCAA levels.
Eureka College's football excitement will continue the very next day, as the Red Devils host their Summer Football Camp on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with check-in running from 8:00-8:45 a.m. The camp provides high school athletes an opportunity to train with Eureka's coaching staff, compete in skill development sessions, and gain valuable recruiting exposure. Registration is available here.
