Ian Milsteadt Named SLIAC Player of the Week for Third Straight Week

EUREKA – For the third week in a row, Eureka's Ian Milsteadt (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The senior guard averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 36.8 in a pair of wins last week. On Thursday, he scored 19 points, gathered eight rebounds, had four assists, made two pivotal blocks and recorded one game-changing steal in the final minute before delivering the game-winning 3-point play in a 71-70 comeback win over Cornell.

Then, on Saturday, he dropped 22 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had three assists in an 84-69 win over Spalding to keep Eureka undefeated in SLIAC play. He also only committed a season-low three turnovers on the week.

This is the Red Devils' fourth straight Player of the Week honor of the season. Fellow senior guard Chris Daniels (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) received the honor the first week of the season, and Milsteadt has been named Player of the Week the past three weeks. Going back to last season., this is the team's fifth straight time capturing the honor.

The Red Devils are 6-2 on the season and 3-0 in SLIAC play. The team will host Fontbonne (2-6, 1-3 SLIAC) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
