Four Red Devils Receive SLIAC All-Academic Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Four Eureka College basketball players have received St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Winter All-Academic honors, the SLIAC announced on Wednesday.

Jordan Brooks (St. Joseph, Ill./St. Joseph-Ogden/Lincoln Land) and Austyn Ellison (Hudson, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) were selected from the Eureka men's team, and Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) and Kyla Simmons (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek-Mackinaw) were selected from the Eureka women's team.

Sstudent-athletes must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution to be eligible for the award.

Brooks and Ellison were both key guards in Eureka's rotation and are first-time honorees. Brooks, a senior, is a sports management major. Ellison, a junior, is studying biology.

This is Falls' third time receiving SLIAC All-Academic honors. A psychology major, Falls is a three-time All-SLIAC honoree and was a four-year starter for the Red Devils. She finished her prolific collegiate career with 1,169 points and 779 rebounds, ranking seventh in points in program history and tying for fifth in rebounds.

Simmons, a sophomore reserve guard, is a first-time SLIAC All-Academic honoree and is studying elementary and special education.
