EUREKA – The Eureka men's soccer team took on a loaded and geographically diverse Iowa Wesleyan squad on Saturday and ended up losing 10-0.
The Tigers racked up three goals in the first three 10 minutes, including two on penalty kicks. Then, 15 minutes into the match, they benefitted from a Eureka red card that forced the home team to play with 10 men the rest of the way.
Iowa Wesleyan's Francisco Javier Saldana recorded a hat trick and Xavier Lozada scored twice.
Eureka's Jerry Anderson (El Paso, Texas/San Elizario) put a pair of shots on frame for the Red Devils.
EC (0-2, 0-2 SLIAC) will look to move forward with a home match against Blackburn (1-0, 1-0 SLIAC) on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.
