LAST TIME OUT:

Eureka is coming off a challenging road loss Wednesday night at Webster, falling 93-46 as the Gorloks used relentless defensive pressure and transition scoring to seize control early. Webster forced 13 first quarter turnovers and built a 24-8 lead after one, setting the tone for the night. Courtney Hart anchored Eureka throughout, delivering a dominant performance with 22 points and a game-high 16 rebounds while shooting 10-for-13 from the field. The junior center controlled the paint on both ends and accounted for nearly half of Eureka's scoring. Lailah Hadley added seven points and a team-best six assists, while Kayla Collins chipped in seven points and five rebounds. Despite a strong interior effort and a brief fourth quarter run, Webster's depth and efficiency proved decisive.

RED DEVIL REPORT:

Eureka enters Saturday focused on ball security and rebounding discipline. The Red Devils are coming off a game in which turnovers led directly to transition points, making decision-making and pace control key priorities against a physical Spalding squad. Hart continues to be one of the top interior presences in the conference, ranking among the national leaders in rebounding and double doubles, while Eureka will look for continued growth from its young backcourt as conference play continues. Limiting second-chance opportunities will be critical as the Red Devils try to stay competitive against one of the nation's best teams on the glass.

GOLDEN EAGLE OUTLOOK:

Spalding enters the weekend at 7-9 overall and 3-4 in SLIAC play, sitting fifth in the conference standings. The Golden Eagles are coming off an impressive 78-56 win over Blackburn, highlighted by a decisive fourth quarter surge. Zaneiya Batiste leads the way for Spalding, pacing the SLIAC in rebounding at 16.6 per game while ranking among the league's top scorers. She is also among the national leaders in total rebounds and double doubles. Spalding features a balanced offensive attack with Batiste, Ma'Kaylia Lute, Gabby Douglass, A'Nieja Russell, and Nicole Hollowell all providing scoring punch, while Douglass ranks among the national leaders in assists. The Golden Eagles dominate the boards, ranking 26th nationally in rebounding margin, and use that physicality to control tempo and possessions.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Following Saturday's contest, Eureka will continue its road swing with a trip to Principia on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. The Panthers are the defending SLIAC tournament champions and currently sit fourth in the conference, making the matchup another important test as the Red Devils navigate a busy stretch of league play.
