VIRDEN, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer team picked up its first SLIAC win of the season on Sunday, earning a 1-0 road victory over Blackburn behind a first half goal from Logan Webster (Charleston, Ill./Charleston).
Webster's strike in the 40th minute, the first goal of her collegiate career, proved to be the difference as the Red Devils (4-9-1, 1-5-1 SLIAC) secured a crucial three points to move into sixth place in the SLIAC tournament race.
Junior goalkeeper Naitzy Garcia (Mendota, Ill./Mendota) was stellar once again in net, making seven saves to record her first clean sheet of the season.
The Red Devils were able to place all nine of their shots on target while limiting the Beavers (3-9-1, 0-4-1 SLIAC) to just seven shots on goal.
