Eureka Selects Gabe Billings as Head Women’s Soccer Coach
EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College has selected Gabe Billings to lead its women's soccer program as the eighth head coach in program history, Director of Athletics Sara Shaw announced Monday.
"It's a great day for our women's soccer program," Shaw said. "Coach Billings brings a wealth of knowledge and is an experienced recruiter who is passionate about developing excellence on and off the field. We are confident he will be able take our program to the next level. He is committed to building our program here and we are looking forward to seeing women's soccer thrive under his leadership."
Billings brings a diverse coaching background at the junior college level, along with extensive experience in club soccer, officiating, and athletic administration. Most recently, he has served as the Director of Intercollegiate and Intramural Athletics and Head Men's Soccer Coach at Wilbur Wright College, where he oversees operating budgets for both the Athletics and Physical Education departments and leads recruitment and scheduling efforts across all athletic programs.
Prior to Wilbur Wright, Billings served as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Harper College during the 2024 season, where he guided the program to a 5-7-3 overall record and the NJCAA Region 4 playoffs while building transfer pathways for student-athletes to four-year universities.
Before Harper, Billings spent the 2023 season as Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach at Elgin Community College in the NJCAA Division 2 SkyWay Conference. There, he achieved the largest men's soccer roster in program history, led the men to a 4-10-1 overall record, restarted the women's soccer program, and produced one All-Region player, three All-Conference players, and seven All-Conference Academic honorees.
Billings also served as Head Women's Soccer Coach at Illinois Valley Community College during the 2022 season, where he recruited a full roster within a tight timeframe, coached one All-Region and All-Conference player, and built a 23-player roster for the following year.
Beyond his collegiate coaching career, Billings has served simultaneously as a Tournament Director, Director of College Recruitment, and Youth Soccer Trainer with Midwest FC and Glen Ellyn Lakers FC since 2021, consistently coaching six teams per season across competitive leagues, tournaments, and showcases nationwide. He has also served as an Adjunct Faculty member in Physical Education at College of DuPage since May 2024.
Billings is also a highly decorated elite referee with the United States Soccer Federation, having officiated at the professional level in leagues including the UPSL, USL2, NPSL, MLS Next, and ECNL, as well as college matches across the BIG 10, MAC, ACC, Horizon, Summit, and WAC conferences. He has represented Referee Abroad in international tournaments across eight countries and earned numerous awards, including the USYS National Selection (2023) and multiple international tournament honors.
"I am honored to join Eureka College as the Head Women's Soccer Coach and grateful to Sara Shaw for this opportunity," Billings said. "My goal is to build a culture of excellence that develops our student-athletes on and off the field, strengthens the foundation of the program, and helps take Eureka Women's Soccer to the next level."
Billings earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Concordia University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Soccer Coaching Education from Ohio University. He will lead the Red Devils into the upcoming season.
