Volleyball Falls to Franklin in Season Opener

EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka Volleyball dropped their season opener in three sets against Franklin on Wednesday night. 

Freshman Alyssa Company (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln Community) led the way for the Red Devils with 10 kills in her first collegiate match and finished the game with a hitting percentage of .240. Sophomore Claire Schaffner(Delavan, Ill./Delavan) had a strong showing with 8 assists and 7 digs in her first volleyball match for the Red Devils. 

The Grizzlies took a tightly contested first set 25-19 before pulling away to win sets two and three, 25-18 and 25-15.

The Red Devils have over a week to rest before they are back at home for a match against Dominican at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 13.
