Volleyball Falls at Concordia Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Eureka volleyball team faced a tough match on Tuesday, losing to Concordia Chicago in straight sets: 16-25, 11-25, and 16-25.

The Red Devils kept it close in the first set, narrowing the gap to 14-16 before the Cougars rallied to take the set. In the second set, Eureka struggled again down the stretch, allowing Concordia to score 15 of the last 17 points, dropping the set 25-11. The final set saw the Cougars maintain an early lead, closing out the match 25-16.

Alyssa Company (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln Community) led the team with 8 kills, while Maleaha Nagel (Abingdon, Ill./Abingdon-Avon) recorded 10 assists. Hallee Gauna (Arcola, Ill./Arcola) led the Red Devils with 2 blocks and added 4 kills.
