Women’s Volleyball Picked Sixth in SLIAC Preseason Poll
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference unveiled its 2025 preseason coaches poll for volleyball on Thursday, with Eureka selected to finish sixth. The Red Devils earned 17 points in the poll, which was voted on by the league's head coaches.
Greenville topped the rankings with 45 points and five first-place votes, while Westminster followed closely with 44 points and three first-place nods. Webster (37), Lyon (32), and Spalding (27) filled out the next three spots. Eureka (17), Blackburn (15), and MUW (7) rounded out the poll.
Eureka returns a strong core, including their top three kill leaders from last season, Alyssa Company (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln Community), Hallee Gauna (Arcola, Ill./Arcola), and Brooklyn Shell (Evansville, Ind./Mount Vernon). Company, who earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a freshman, is expected to continue making an impact this season and was named to the 2025 SLIAC Preseason Watch List.
Newcomers Kaitlyn Robinson and Colbie Grieff are also expected to step into key roles as the Red Devils aim to improve on last season's finish.
Eureka opens the 2025 season at the Lady Blue Challenge, where they will face Rose-Hulman and North Central on Aug. 29, followed by a matchup with Augustana on Aug. 30. Conference play begins on Sept. 20 when the Red Devils travel to Fulton, Mo., to take on Lyon and Westminster.
