GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka women's volleyball team continued SLIAC play on Saturday, dropping a pair of matches to MUW and Greenville in a tri-match hosted by Greenville.
Game 1: MUW 3, Eureka 0
Eureka (3-9, 0-4 SLIAC) fell to MUW (4-9, 2-3 SLIAC) in three tightly contested sets, 26-24, 26-24, 25-18.
The Red Devils battled hard in the first two sets, pushing MUW to the brink both times. Eureka led late in each frame, but MUW rallied with timely kills and service aces to steal both sets. In the third, MUW opened with a 5-1 run and maintained control, closing out the match with a 4-1 scoring run.
Alyssa Company (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln Community) led Eureka with eight kills, three service aces, and 17 digs. Hallee Gauna (Arcola, Ill./Arcola) added seven kills on .438 hitting and three blocks. Brooklyn Shell (Evansville, Ind./Mount Vernon) posted eight kills and six digs, while Kaitlyn Robinson (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) tallied 19 assists. Lexi Liaromatis (Wilmington, Ill./Wilmington) contributed eight digs and a service ace.
Game 2: Greenville 3, Eureka 0
In the second match, Eureka fell to Greenville (9-6, 4-0 SLIAC) by scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-17.
Greenville dominated from the start, jumping out to early leads in the first two sets and never looking back, winning both sets comfortably. The Red Devils showed fight in the third, staying within striking distance until a late 6-2 run sealed the sweep for Greenville.
Company again paced Eureka with eight kills and four digs. Shell added four kills, while Gauna and Frannie Heckman (Benson, Ill./Roanoke-Benson) chipped in two apiece. Robinson and Claire Schaffner (Delavan, Ill./Delavan) each tallied eight assists, and Cloee O'Donoghue (Emden, Ill./Hartsburg-Emden) led the team with seven digs.

Eureka will look to regroup on Tuesday when they travel to Dominican for a non-conference matchup. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
